OUTRE LAMP
Making Project | 1 Week

Lightly inspired by Teenage Engineering, I challenged myself to use excess materials found in the workshop.

MATERIALS
Workshop Scraps
With only five days to design and build, I picked up some blue acrylic left in the workshop, and cut it to size.

DESIGN GOALS
Simplicity
For convenience, all the pieces I cut had straight edges and divisible dimensions. I then sanded the cut edges to a smooth finish. The acrylic gives the lamp an ethereal neon-blue glow.
With the limited time available, I chose to buy the light fixture. I used a solvent to seamlessly bond the acrylic together.

Simple lock nuts and bolts allowed the scissor mechanism to move freely.
